I actually received this tweet today:
"Watching harry potter marathon makes me want to reread the books blah wish i had more reading time!"
Apparently, it has not yet occurred to this person that if s/he TURNS OFF the movie marathon s/he'll have MORE TIME to read the books.
Duh.
It took all my self-control not to tweet back a smart-mouth remark to this person. But I managed just to post it here instead. :)
Wait. Let me process that.
ReplyDeleteYou don't mean to tell me that my TV has an off button?
And all this time I thought I was stuck there watching TV when I could have been doing something constructive.
You could have said something earlier!
This really makes me laugh! Whenever people moan about "all the rubbish that's on TV" I have to bite my lip to not say: TURN THE BLIMMIN' THING OFF THEN!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had television for several years and I don't miss it at all.
ReplyDeleteI gave up watching TV when I was 16. I haven't missed much. I own a TV, but that's so I can watch DVDs while I exercise. The TV has not been updated and cannot actually pick up signals anymore, so it's only a DVD player.
